Heavy Metal Festival Wacken Turns It Up with 3D Documentary

Every year, Wacken, Germany holds the largest metal Festival. Megaforce legends, Anthrax, are on the bill.  Concert organizers are filming this years concert in 3-D for a feature documentary to be titled Wacken 3D – Louder Than Hell!

AC/DC APPROVES OF ANTHRAX COVER

The Anthrax camp received the greatest compliment possible for their cover of AC/DC’s T.N.T.  “Not too shabby, boys” was posted on the AC/DC Facebook page with a link to the Anthrax cover.  There’s been a lot of positive hype for the new collection of Anthrax covers on the Anthems release, which is in stores March 19th.

Anthrax and the Revolver Golden Gods Awards

Anthrax is proud to announce that they have been nominated for the REVOLVER GOLDEN GODS AWARD for Best Live Band!

The Award is fan-voted so Anthrax admirers and minions need to vote for the band here: GOLDENGODSAWARDS.COM.  The voting ends at 11:59 p.m. on April 15, but fans can vote as many times as they want up until then.

Antrax will also be performing at the 2013 REVOLVER GOLDEN GODS AWARDS SHOW at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on Thursday, May 2nd. The show will be broadcast live on AXS TV, XBOX LIVE and on the Revolver and Xbox LIVE Facebook pages worldwide.

Perennial thrashers Anthrax are prepping the release of a new EP, Anthems, that will hit shelves on March 19th on Megaforce. It finds the group covering songs by some of their favorite artists, including Thin Lizzy’s “Jailbreak” and Boston’s “Smokin.'”

Anthrax – Worship Music

Worship Music, the long-awaited new studio album from Anthrax, one of the four original architects of speed and thrash-metal.  Not only is Worship MusicAnthrax’s first studio release in eight years, but the album marks the return of vocalist Joey Belladonna, whose last studio work with the band was 1990’s Persistence of Time. Belladonna is now firmly back inthe Anthrax line up with drummer Charlie Benante, guitarists Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano, and bassist Frank Bello.

Anthrax – Anthems

Anthrax releases a new batch of classic — but not necessarily classic Anthrax — music that’s coming from the band.  Anthem is six classic rock covers Anthrax recorded during sessions for 2011’s “Worship Music,” the group’s first new album in eight years and first with singer Joey Belladonna since 1990.

The group recently returned to the studio to finish up versions of Rush’s “Anthem,” Thin Lizzy’s “Jailbreak,” AC/DC’s “TNT,” Boston’s “Smokin’,” Cheap Trick’s “Big Eyes” and Journey’s “Keep on Runnin’,” will all appear on the EP along with a remix of “Crawl” from 2011’s Worship Music.

Vote for Anthrax in Loudwire’s March Metal Madness

Loudwire has launched its March Metal Madness 2012, their answer to the NCAA’s March Madness.  The editors have chosen 32 signature songs from the most iconic metal bands of all time in an effort to crown the all-time greatest metal song.

The competition is divided into four “regions” – Devil Horn, Moshpit, Headbanger and Stage Dive.  Each region has its own set of songs in competition.

Anthrax’s “Caught In a Mosh” is one of the songs competing in the Moshpit Region, Round 1.

Record Store Day Introduces Third Option!

The success of Record Store Day caused people to ask, “how do we do this all year round?”  The answer, Third Option.  The Third Option includes a button graphic, along with backend programming which uses geolocation to find the nearest independent record stores participating in the program, allowing people to BUY LOCAL FROM A RECORD STORE in one of three ways:  PHYSICALLY, finding the closest store to walk into; MAIL ORDER, finding the closest store who fill the order and mail it out; and DIGITALLY, with per-song and album options from Record Store Day.
