They’re just being shown in pure form for the first time.. Grace, who stopped by Daytrotter for a rare solo show with Atom Willard (on two tracks) , sings o n her band’s new record’s title track, as well as a number of other songs

Recorded at Daytrotter, there’s new bliss for Grace these days, even as the pain of intolerance and human cruelty still doubles down. She’s herself now and that should bring happiness, in time.

Mike Doughty – Stellar Motel

Legendary wordsmith Mike Doughty’s STELLAR MOTEL is back, on his Snack Bar imprint, via Megaforce/RED. Stellar Motel is Mike’s first album of all-original tunes since 2011’s acclaimed Yes and Also Yes. STELLAR MOTEL is led by the tranced-out, banjo-driven single “Light WIll Keep Your Heart Beating in the Future.”

Produced by DJ Good Goose, the album features a menagerie of guests, from the rappers Jay Boogs, HJA, Miss Eaves, and MC Frontalot, to drums and sax trio Moon Hooch, to long-time sideman Andrew “Scrap” Livingston, to Japanese rap star Kim Uhnellys.

Doughty hits the road this fall with an extensive US tour of his famed Question Jar Show. Stretching from early October through Thanksgiving, stops are expected in every major market from New York to Chicago to Seattle to LA to Atlanta and back again.

STELLAR MOTEL comes hot on the heels off this summer’s release Live At Ken’s House – a document of Doughty’s 2013 all-Soul-Coughing-songs tour.
