Vote for Anthrax in Loudwire’s March Metal Madness

Loudwire has launched its March Metal Madness 2012, their answer to the NCAA’s March Madness.  The editors have chosen 32 signature songs from the most iconic metal bands of all time in an effort to crown the all-time greatest metal song.

The competition is divided into four “regions” – Devil Horn, Moshpit, Headbanger and Stage Dive.  Each region has its own set of songs in competition.

Anthrax’s “Caught In a Mosh” is one of the songs competing in the Moshpit Region, Round 1.

Bad Brains Documentary To Premiere At SXSW

The Bad Brains Documentary Band in DC will premiere at SXSW on March 12th at 9 p.m. at the Vimeo Theater – 201 Trinity Street.

Bad Brains are one of the most important and influential American bands still working today. They melded punk and reggae into an innovative style that has yet to be copied. Their impact and influence can be heard in groups like Beastie Boys, No Doubt, Nirvana, Jane’s Addiction and countless more. Despite the troubles of an eccentric front man they have stayed together for 30 years without ever reaching the level of success so many think they deserve. Using rare archival footage and original comic illustrations the film re-constructs Bad Brains’ rich and complicated history.

Check out the film’s TRAILER.

Record Store Day Introduces Third Option!

The success of Record Store Day caused people to ask, “how do we do this all year round?”  The answer, Third Option.  The Third Option includes a button graphic, along with backend programming which uses geolocation to find the nearest independent record stores participating in the program, allowing people to BUY LOCAL FROM A RECORD STORE in one of three ways:  PHYSICALLY, finding the closest store to walk into; MAIL ORDER, finding the closest store who fill the order and mail it out; and DIGITALLY, with per-song and album options from Record Store Day.

The Third Option launches with many artists committing to include the “BUY LOCAL FROM A RECORD STORE button on their sites shortly including Wilco, Mastodon, The Civil Wars, Sinead O’Connor, Josh Groban, Gary Clark, Jr., Anthrax, Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Jack’s Mannequin, The Vespers, Rebelution, Lovedrug, Green River Ordinance, Butterfly Boucher, Sugar and the Hi Lows, Rosie Thomas, Katie Herzig, and none other than Bruce Springsteen.

We are proud to have Sinead O’Connor’s How About I Be Me (and you be you) and Anthrax’s Worship Music participating in the Program.  Please click on the links below to purchase the releases via local record stores.
