AC/DC APPROVES OF ANTHRAX COVER

The Anthrax camp received the greatest compliment possible for their cover of AC/DC’s T.N.T.  “Not too shabby, boys” was posted on the AC/DC Facebook page with a link to the Anthrax cover.  There’s been a lot of positive hype for the new collection of Anthrax covers on the Anthems release, which is in stores March 19th.

Anthrax and the Revolver Golden Gods Awards

Anthrax is proud to announce that they have been nominated for the REVOLVER GOLDEN GODS AWARD for Best Live Band!

The Award is fan-voted so Anthrax admirers and minions need to vote for the band here: GOLDENGODSAWARDS.COM.  The voting ends at 11:59 p.m. on April 15, but fans can vote as many times as they want up until then.

Antrax will also be performing at the 2013 REVOLVER GOLDEN GODS AWARDS SHOW at Club Nokia in Los Angeles on Thursday, May 2nd. The show will be broadcast live on AXS TV, XBOX LIVE and on the Revolver and Xbox LIVE Facebook pages worldwide.

Perennial thrashers Anthrax are prepping the release of a new EP, Anthems, that will hit shelves on March 19th on Megaforce. It finds the group covering songs by some of their favorite artists, including Thin Lizzy’s “Jailbreak” and Boston’s “Smokin.'”

Now you can take a listen to their thundering cover of Rush‘s “Anthem” done with a fresh, metal twist.

SPIN Profiles BAD BRAINS

SPIN decided to do an in-depth profile on the Legendary band, Bad Brains.  Here is a bit of it:

Thirty-five years into their unlikely career, the punk legends have just released a strong new album and are finally coming to terms with their influential, genre-busting legacy. More importantly, they’re also coming to terms with each other. It hasn’t been easy.

It’s a cool November day as Bad Brains frontman HR descends the front steps of his brownstone apartment in the collegiate Baltimore neighborhood of Charles Village, which abuts Johns Hopkins University. The area is lined with trees still bearing yellow and orange leaves, but here to challenge the mundanity of this otherwise average fall day is one of hardcore punk’s most perplexing enigmas, a man who once leapt from a stage onto a young Henry Rollins, inspiring him to become a singer; a man who once smoked weed with a teenaged Brooke Shields; and a man whose chameleonic vocal delivery proved that punk frontmen could be more than just screamers.

Shepard Fairey Designs Album Art for Bad Brains “Into the Future”

American artist Shepard Fairey, a lifelong fan of the Bad Brains, has designed the packaging for their upcoming album, ‘Into the Future’ (November 20 /Megaforce). The Bad Brains classic lineup of H.R., Darryl Jenifer, Dr. Know and Earl Hudson has reunited for their first album in five years.

Shepard Fairey is one of the most influential street artists. Emerging from the skateboarding scene in the 80s, the designer and illustrator became widely known during the 2008 presidential election for his Barack Obama ‘Hope’ poster.  Fairey’s work is featured at the Smithsonian, MOMA, the National Portrait Gallery and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.has designed two Person of the Year covers for Time Magazine, for President Obama and the “The Protestor” in the wake of the Arab Spring and Occupy movements.

Rolling Stone Premieres a New BAD BRAINS track

Rolling Stone is premiering the title track, Into the Future, from the upcoming new-material Bad Brains release.  Into the Future is due in stores November 20th.
