Shepard Fairey Designs Album Art for Bad Brains “Into the Future”
American artist Shepard Fairey, a lifelong fan of the Bad Brains, has designed the packaging for their upcoming album, ‘Into the Future’ (November 20 /Megaforce). The Bad Brains classic lineup of H.R., Darryl Jenifer, Dr. Know and Earl Hudson has reunited for their first album in five years.
Shepard Fairey is one of the most influential street artists. Emerging from the skateboarding scene in the 80s, the designer and illustrator became widely known during the 2008 presidential election for his Barack Obama ‘Hope’ poster. Fairey’s work is featured at the Smithsonian, MOMA, the National Portrait Gallery and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.has designed two Person of the Year covers for Time Magazine, for President Obama and the “The Protestor” in the wake of the Arab Spring and Occupy movements.
